Dr Kathy Taghipour is a UK-qualified Consultant Dermatologist, registered on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. She provides consultation on all aspects of general and surgical dermatology and treats a variety of skin, hair and nail conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, alopecia and rashes. In addition, she has particular expertise in autoimmune blistering diseases, female genital dermatology (vulval dermatology), skin cancers, mole assessment and skin surgery.

Dr Taghipour graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Gothenburg University in Sweden and subsequently continued her postgraduate medical training in the UK. She completed a prestigious dermatology training programme in the Oxford Deanery during which she was engaged in clinical and laboratory research. Her commitment to research led to a research doctorate degree in the field of autoimmune blistering
diseases, with a focus on bullous pemphigoid. She has been an authority in the field having published numerous scientific papers and co-authored the national guidelines.

Her other interests include assessment and surgical/non-surgical treatment of skin cancer and other skin lesions. Dr Taghipour is the lead physician for Skin Cancer services at Whittington Health where she holds her NHS post. She is also the lead dermatologist for female genital dermatology, working closely with gynaecologists and genitourinary specialist colleagues.

Dr Taghipour has published in peer reviewed scientific journals and has lectured nationally and internationally. She enjoys teaching and training medical students, GPs, junior dermatologists and other colleagues. She has a patient-centred approach in her clinics, providing advice and treatment that is tailored to patients’ individual needs.
