Skin and Wound Treatment

Our specialist nurse led skin treatment unit provides regular treatment for a variety of skin conditions and wounds.  Even if you have been under another clinic or the NHS, we can help with your treatment, in conjunction with your referring dermatologist.  If you don't have a dermatologist, we can help you find one with expertise in your skin condition.

Healing and dressing surgical wounds

We are experts in healing and dressing surgical wounds. If your wound is slow to heal or needs better dressings, we can guide and treat you.

Leg ulcer and compression treatment

The correct dressings and leg compression can make ulcers cleaner, more comfortable and get the healing going, along with a holistic approach with your general health, nutrition and medication.

Skin infections

Impetigo, herpes (cold sores), chickenpox, cellulitis, scabies and other skin infections all benefit from the right specialist care, which we provide.

Other skin treatments:

  • Eczema

  • Psoriasis

  • Hyperhidrosis of hands and feet

  • Phototherapy

  • Photodynamic therapy

Wound not healing ?

We can help investigate the causes of non-healing or slow to heal wounds.  These can be from an injury, a medical condition like diabetes, a surgery, a stoma or a leg ulcer.  We may perform tests to establish the causes of slow healing:

  • Blood tests

  • Biopsy from near the wound area

  • Swabs from the wound to look for infection

  • Vascular studies for the blood supply

Our consultant dermatologists, surgeons and specialist nurses can advise further.  If you would like to enquire, please contact us

Leg ulcers

We have significant experience in the diagnosis and treatment of leg ulceration, aiming to heal the ulcers and alleviate pain and discomfort.  Mostly, leg ulcers are related to poor circulation, therefore we have close working relationships with vascular surgeons if needed.  Other cases of leg ulceration can involve conditions such as diabetes, vasculitis, immune diseases and other injuries or infections.  If you need help with a leg ulcer, please contact us
